Holden
got off at Penn Station, and he went into phone booth. He felt like giving
somebody a buzz, but he couldn’t think of anybody to call up. His brother D.B
was in Hollywood. His kid sister Phoebe goes to bed around nine o’clock so he
couldn’t call her up. Then he thought of giving Jane Gallagher’s mother a buzz,
and find out when Jane’s vacation started, but he didn’t feel like it. He also
wants to call Sally Hayes, and Carl Luce. However he ended up not calling
anybody. He came out of the booth, after that he took a taxi. He gave the
driver his regular address, just out of habit. He completely forgot he was
going to shack up in a hotel for days, but he couldn’t go back downtown. He
said, ”You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South? That
little lake? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks,
when it gets all frozen over? Do you happen to know, by any chance?” In our
opinion, he feels like emptiness and nothingness. So, he found duck and empathy
his brother Allie. And then he went to go Edmont Hotel.
At that hotel, there
are lots of sexual pervert. Unfortunately, he saw that action. However he found
paper which was given by Princeton guy. He called up that number whose name is
Faith Cavendish. He said, she is not prostitute, but she can do it similarly.
By the way, the result was fail because he lied to her. We don’t why, but in
our opinion, he can answer about next date for drink cocktail. However, he didn’t
because he want show her to a gentleman.
Finally,
we will make some quizzes. For homework, commentators do the following:

Heckler I think that number1 question is half correct. When Holden was in taxi, I guess that he felt ennui in taxi. Therefore, he said about ducks.

In number 3, I agree with you're answer, but there is another reason, he said to taxi driver in unconsciously.
